Broome’s Island is not actually an island, but a small hamlet located on a peninsula that juts out into the Patuxent River at the end of State Route 264 in Calvert County Maryland. It is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood of south Maryland where tradition and a slower-paced lifestyle on the water are the norm. You will find many families that have lived in the area for years, it is a quintessential small American town on the water, where many people know each other.

This peninsular hamlet got its name from the Brome Family. They owned the land that is now Broomes Island in the 1600s. The community grew in population during the late 1800s as the location became ideal to build a riverfront home.
